Now, this isn’t to say that giving birth is inherently immoral. I personally believe it is, but I won’t get into that right now.
I don’t want to give birth because there are so many children in America’s foster system with nowhere to go. Especially the older kids, who no one wants because “everyone wants cute babies!!!!” So what happens to these older kids?
They age out of the system and get into drugs, prostitution, and gangs because they don’t have the resources or help to take care of themselves.
It’s horrible and I feel like it would be selfish of me to have kids of my own when there are other kids out there suffering.
And when it comes to being “pro-life” those people always talk about how you can “just put the baby up for adoption”. But again, THATS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE KIDS! Sometimes being put up for adoption could end up being even worse.
I suppose I’m pretty young yet, only a first year in college, but this is constantly stuck in my head when I think about having kids. My personal ethics won’t let me at all.
Does anyone else feel this way?
